Mahes Wickramasinghe

President, Group Operations,
Rogers Communications

“We are committed to being there and contributing to the communities in which we live and work.”

Mahes Wickramasinghe is President of Group Operations at Rogers, where he oversees Customer Experience, Digital, Rogers Bank, Procurement, and other operating functions. His career has repeatedly put him at the intersection of customer behavior, data, and large-scale operations, shaping an approach that focuses on using better information to make better decisions for customers.

That philosophy was already visible during his time at Canadian Tire. As Executive Vice President, Wickramasinghe helped steer the company's e-commerce strategy while overseeing the development and use of data analytics across the business. In 2017, then-CEO Stephen Wetmore described Wickramasinghe as a “pioneer and a driving force” behind Canadian Tire’s shift in analytics.

Wickramasinghe had recognized that the company possessed enormous amounts of customer data, but much of it remained fragmented and difficult to act on. He helped move the business toward statistical models that could challenge long-held assumptions about customer behavior, including which products attracted valuable customers into stores. Those insights began influencing assortment planning and merchandising, turning customer data into something that could directly shape operating decisions.

That same instinct now carries into his role at Rogers, where Customer Experience and Digital sit within his remit. Rather than treating CX as a standalone service function, Wickramasinghe is positioned to connect customer signals with the systems, processes, and digital tools that determine how the experience actually works.

Wickramasinghe uses data and technology to modernize customer service and to continuously redesign the underlying operation around what customers are showing the business they need. Rogers reported more than 320 customer-led process improvements in 2025, including 174 changes to internal tools, while expanding the use of virtual assistants, agent assist, InfoAssist, and smart responses across service operations.
