April Anslinger
"We're using intelligence and predictive data to know where pests are heading before homeowners ever see them."
April Anslinger is Chief Marketing & Experience Officer at Aptive Environmental, where she’s helping move pest control from a reactive service to a more predictive customer experience. Her work brings together brand, digital experience, retention, and data analytics around an idea that customers shouldn’t have to wait for a problem to become urgent before a company becomes useful.
That perspective reflects a career spent studying how people make decisions around consumer brands. Across P&G, Aveda, and Self Esteem Brands, Anslinger worked at the intersection of marketing, product, and experience. At Self Esteem Brands, she oversaw digital product and UX alongside marketing, and praised partners who combined data with what she called “deep consumer curiosity.”
Anslinger believes that the pest control industry is too reactive, and says it “runs on fear and sells urgency.” Her alternative is to make the experience more useful before a homeowner reaches that point of concern.
Aptive’s Pest Intelligence Center combines customer data, technician notes, weather, and seasonal trends to anticipate where pest activity may rise. For Anslinger, the value of that intelligence lies in creating the opportunity to personalize what customers hear, when they hear it, and what Aptive can do for them next.
That same push toward more intelligent interactions extends into the contact center, where Aptive uses Cresta to surface conversation insights and support agents in real time
Anslinger is using AI to rethink when customer experience should begin. Her work points toward a model in which companies don’t simply react faster, but understand enough about customers and context to become useful sooner.
